The ruling in full:

Rozle Bohinc (#86) of Olimpija Ljubljana, time 27:32 was involved in an incident deemed as Illegal Check to the Head or Neck (IIHF Rule 48). The video evidence was sent to the win2day ICE Hockey League PSC, which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 - 'Careless'.

On Sunday in Milan, Ljubljana D-Man #86 Rozle Bohinc was assessed a 5 minute major penalty and game misconduct for an illegal Check to the Head or Neck on Milano forward #11 Nick Caamano.

As the video demonstrates, Caamano receives a chip pass immediately before the contact, leaving him with little to no time to prepare for the impending hit.

Bohinc reads the play, skates directly towards Caamano and steps up to deliver a forceful body check. It is reasonable to assume that Bohinc's intention was to deliver a legal body check. However, the execution of the check results in illegal contact when Bohinc makes initial and forceful contact with Caamano's head.

This is an Illegal Check to the Head or Neck.

The head is determined to be the initial point of contact. Bohinc's right shoulder makes direct and forceful contact with Caamano's head. Although secondary contact is made with the body, it is the head that absorbs the primary force of the impact.

The contact is considered avoidable. Bohinc has sufficient space and opportunity to deliver a legal check through the shoulder or core. However, by choosing to step up and deliver the hit in a straight-line direction, rather than angling his approach to establish shoulder-to-shoulder or chest-to-body contact, Bohinc creates a situation in which the head becomes the primary point of contact.

Caamano is skating forward and, having just received the chip pass, has very limited time to react or adjust his body position. Bohinc, as the player initiating the contact, is responsible for ensuring that the check is delivered legally and that the head is not the initial point of contact.

Taking into consideration the nature of the contact, the force delivered, the head being the initial point of contact, and the avoidable nature of the hit, the incident warrants supplemental discipline.

The ICE Hockey League Department of Player Safety has suspended Rozle Bohinc (#86) for 2 games and fined 400.00 euros.

To summarize:
1) Illegal Check to the Head or Neck
2) Initial contact directly to head
3) Not a repeat offender
