In the first of two games on Tuesday, the EC-KAC II will face HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. While Jesenice was active in the Slovenian national championship last week and reached the final, the KA2 was the only team to play two games in the Alps Hockey League. The 15th in the standings from Klagenfurt could win both games. First with 5:3 at the Steel Wings Linz, then they won at home against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan with 2:1 after overtime. Jesenice is currently the team of the hour in the AHL. They won all of their last seven games. They are in third place in the standings with 41 points. They are seven points behind leader HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. However, JES has played three games less than its rival. Jesenice and Klagenfurt have met three times this season. The Slovenians won all three games. In two encounters they even scored six or more goals. In total, the two teams have faced each other 15 times in the AHL. The KA2 won only one game, on January 3rd, 2019.

With HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana the second Slovenian team is in action on Tuesday too. The table leader has to play at S.G. Cortina Hafro. Both teams were in action last week in the semifinals of their national championships. While Ljubljana qualified for the final without any problems, lost in the semifinals. They were defeated by Asiago in both games. In the AHL, SGC's form is also not that good. They lost two of their last three games. Cortina is in seventh place in the standings. Ljubljana was successful in six of the last seven games. Marco De Filippo (SGC) and Paavo Hölsä (HKO) are the two goalkeepers with the best save percentage in the league. While De Filippo leads with 95.3%, Hölsä follows in second place with 94.4%. Cortina's goalkeeper, however, has only played six games this season. In the only duel of the season so far, on December 19th, the 30-years-old was not in goal for the 16-time Italian champions. The "Dragons" from Ljubljana prevailed with 7:3. It was the seventh win for the Slovenians in the ninth AHL duel with the Italians.
