Alps Hockey League, Master Round:

Jesenice topples the league leader

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice delivered the big surprise of the round. In the Slovenian derby, Jesenice, who was sixth in the basic round, beat the reigning champion. For Jesenice it was already the tenth success in a row. In the first two thirds, the guests acted much more efficiently, taking a 3-0 lead. Ljubljana came back in the last period and shortened the score to 2:3 by the 56th minute, but Jesenice did not allow another goal to be scored and celebrated a 3:2 success at the start of the Master Round. With this success Jesenice climbed to fourth place in the table. Ljubljana dropped back to third place.

Rittner Buam take the lead
The Rittner Buam celebrated a victory over Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and took the lead in the standings. The Buam acted more determined from the beginning and took a 2-0 lead in the first period. In the second period the Buam were also more successful and were able to extend their lead. Ritten finally celebrated a 4:1 success. Stefan Quinz scored a double.

Pustertal climbs to second place
HC Pustertal celebrated a 4:2 victory over S.G. Cortina Hafro and climbed to second place in the table. In a balanced third from the start the wolves took the lead. Right at the beginning of the middle third the home side added another goal before Cortina started to catch up. Up to the beginning of the third period the guests set the score at 2:2 and the Wolves shifted up a gear in the final phase and finally won 4:2.

Quali Round A:

Red Bull Hockey Juniors take the lead in Group A qualifying
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors started from third place in Qualification Group A and are already in the lead two rounds later. The Salzburgers celebrated a 3-1 win over Gherdeina and ousted the Broncos from the top of the table. After just over eight minutes, the visitors were already leading 2-0. Gherdeina shortened again in the middle third, but did not get dangerous for Salzburg. The Juniors celebrated a 3:1 victory and are at the top of the table after their second win in the second game of Qualification Round A.

Silver Caps defeat Broncos
The WSV Sterzing Broncos had to promptly relinquish the championship lead they had won a few days earlier. The Vienna Capitals Silver celebrated a clear success and toppled the Broncos from the top. The Viennese acted much more efficiently throughout the entire match. While the two goalgetter Henrik Neubauer and Hans Anderson Löfquist each scored a brace, Max Zimmermann presented himself as a safe back-up. The Caps finally won 6:0 and conquered the fifth place.

Quali Round B:

Fassa remains flawless in Quali Round
The SHC Fassa Falcons also wins the second game of Qualification Round B and maintains the lead in the standings. Fassa got the better start and took a 1-0 lead through Diego Iori. But Bregenzerwald had the right answer ready and even took the lead in the second section. But still in the second section the Falcons regained the lead. Iori scored a total of three goals until the 44th minute and provided a supposedly comfortable lead. Bregenzerwald shortened again but could not force the extra time.

Feldkirch stays on top of the table
The VEU Feldkirch confidently prevailed over the EK Zeller Eisbären and remains on the heels of the table leader from Fassa. Martin Mairitsch took the lead in a balanced third at the start. After a goalless middle third, Mairitsch once again made the decision. Within three minutes, the striker from Feldkirch struck twice more. Zell created a few chances, but could not overcome Alex Caffi.

Kitzbühel celebrates favourite victory
The EC Kitzbühel confidently prevailed against Steel Wings Linz. Although the Linz team took the lead early on, they could not hold it for long. Still in the first third the guests turned the match around. The Adler finally celebrated an 8:3 success. Johan Schreiber scored twice.
