EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau and Red Bull Hockey Juniors had a chippy game (28 PIM in period 1). So, the special units of both teams got plenty of ice time in period 1. best-of-seven-series: 1:1

The Renon equalized the series of the quarters thanks to a peremptory victory against Ljubljana for 4:0 and for the first seasonal success against the Green Dragons. The home team was without Julian Kostner, Frei, Fink and the suspended Lutz. During the first minutes of the match, very tactical and fast, the two teams cancelled each other. Except for a crossbar in the first seconds by Eriksson not much happened. Then after seven minutes there was the first turn of the game. Eisath, from the corner, found a Pechlaner forgotten by the Slovenian defences for the first goal of the Renon. After 62 seconds Collalbo's team doubled with a personal action of Sislannikovs. Time-out Ljubljana. Simon Kostner almost scored the third goal while Patrick Luza is expelled from the match for a charge to the head to Zajc. The Renon was exemplary in penalty killing as they did everything right for 5 minutes. Then when there were 70 seconds left to the end of the period, it was a deadly counterattack of Taufer and Tudin for the goal of Thomas Spinell. The best Renon of the season ahead by 3:0 at the end of the first half. In the second period the pace was high. The home team stopped any initiative and even when made a mistake, the guests didn’t score with Kuvajec who took the crossbar. Tudin scored 4:0 in powerplay with a shot from a distance. In the third half the South Tyrolean team controlled as they won by 4:0 for Thomas Tragust's eighth seasonal shutout. Now the series was on a draw (1:1).
Goals RIT: Pechlaner (8. – Eisath), Sislannikovs (9.), M. Spinell (19. – Tudin, Tauferer), Tudin (30./pp – Lescovs, Quinz).

Wed, 20.03.2019: Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro vs. HC Pustertal Wolves 0:1 (0:0,0:1,0:0)
best-of-seven-series: 0:2
Referees: LEGA, OFNER; spectators: 493.
Second consecutive victory for Bruneck who won in Cortina with the same result of game 1 (1:0) and with the same marker (Markus Gander). The home team cannot deploy Alessandro Zanatta, Moser, Toffoli, the suspended Riccardo Lacedelli and after the middle of the match even the injured Ayotte. Good start for the Cortina, which controlled the game but they failed to create real goal chances in front of the opposite net. Minute after minute the game raised in tone also for one powerplay each but neither team found anything important with the extra man. In the final a little more Pustertal but the 0:0 of the first half was a faithful mirror of what happened on the ice. The second half was definitely in favour of the Wolves who entered on the ice more determined and immediately hit a crossbar with Raphael Andergassen. The manoeuvre of the yellow - black is much more convincing than that of the hosts. The guests scored the first and only goal with the usual Markus Gander who found himself in a good position after a powerplay in favour of the Wolves. The Cortina, however, didn’t give in and could draw but Marco Sanna was not concrete in the clearest of occasions for the home team. So, the Pustertal earned the slightest advantage at the end of the second period. In the third period the home team was very proactive but they no found winning ideas and it recreated the same situation of Game 1. The Pusteral was unable to double while the Cortina didn’t find the draw. It continues, so, until the final minutes and the victory of the Wolves that led to 2:0 in the series against the Cortina. For Colin Furlong it is the second consecutive shutout to the playoffs on two games.
Goal PUS: Gander (33. – Virtala, A. Hofer)
