  • The spusu Vienna Capitals and the Moser Medical Graz99ers are competing for the first time this season. For Vienna it is the first of four home games within six days.
  • While VIC (#4) celebrated two victories last weekend, G99 (#2) had to take defeats twice - and thus also lost the lead in the standings.
  • G99 had to concede a total of 16 goals in the two past defeats, slightly less than a third of all the goals against this season (51).
  • VIC scored on home ice in each of the five games, scored four wins after regulation and lost once after shootout (4:5 AVS).
  • This game is a duel between two of the best ICE goal scorers. Both Anthony Cameranesi (G99) and Colin Campbell (VIC) stop at ten seasonal goals and lead this ranking together with Daniel Ciampini (HCI) and Daniel Catenacci (HCB).
  • Both teams have a good PP available: VIC (23.1% | #2) resp. G99 (22.9% | #3). Both teams are also among the top teams in the PK.
  • After the two goals scored in the 2:10 defeat in Salzburg, G99 are still missing six goals to the 3000th league goal since the new formation in summer 2000.
  • In 126 games VIC has won 84 times. The "Caps" have won eight of the last ten or 15 of the last 20 home games against the "99ers".
  • G99 has extended the expired contract with Adis Alagic, who will be missing for about two to four weeks due to injury, until the end of the season. In his thirteen games for the Styrians, the Austrian has scored five goals and one assist so far. While Charlie Dodero will return in Graz’ line-up, Daniel Oberkofler, Lukas Kains and Ben Bowns are still missing.
