US-American forward for Vienna

The spusu Vienna Capitals sign US-American Trevor Cheek. The 30-year-old attacker comes to the Austrian capital with plenty of European experience. Cheek spent two seasons in Denmark and Sweden, most recently playing for Swedish club Västerås IK.

At the highest junior level, Washington State-born Trevor Cheek played in the Western Hockey League. In 215 WHL games, the left-shooter marked 154 points (76 goals + 78 assists). Cheek signed an entry-level contract with the NHL team Colorado Avalanche in May 2013. In three seasons, the U.S. native appeared in the AHL for the Lake Erie Monsters and San Antonio Rampage and in the ECHL for the Fort Wayne Komets. After his entry-level contract expired, Cheek spent part of each of the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons with the Komets and the Tuscon Roadrunners of the AHL. Cheek completed the 2018/19 season exclusively with the Arizona State team. In 268 total AHL games, Cheek marked 58 points (24 goals + 34 assists). At the ECHL level, the US American played 114 games, the yield was 98 points (52 goals + 46 assists).

In May 2019, Trevor Cheek ventured to Europe. The US-American joined the Danish first division club Esbjerg Energy. Cheek was his team's top scorer with 16 goals, and the attacker scored a total of 30 points in 41 games. The US American spent the 2020/21 season with the Rødovre Mighty Bulls, where he increased his tally. The forward made himself the top scorer of his team with 37 points (20 goals + 17 assists). Cheek then moved to the second Swedish league to Kristianstads IK.

The US-American spent the last season with Västerås IK. With 24 points in 35 games, the 30-year-old was his team's best import in the Regular Season. The US-American played a total of 42 games for Västerås IK and scored 26 points (15 goals + 11 assists).
