In addition to Sebastian Dahm, EC-KAC will continue to rely on the two goalkeepers Val Usnik and Florian Vorauer, who were promoted to the first team via the club's Future Team, at the goalkeeper position. While the Slovenian was already tied up until the end of the 2022/23 season during the course of the past season, the KAC homegrown player recently signed a work contract that is also limited until next summer.

Val Usnik (21) joined the EC-KAC Future Team in the 2021 transfer window and showed strong performances there from the start: After 18 appearances with a goals against average (GAA) of only 2.48 and a save percentage of 91.9 percent, he advanced from the end of January to replace Sebastian Dahm during his commitment to the Winter Olympics. The Slovenian made seven starts for the team, resulting in three wins, four losses and a GAA of 2.95. The 21-year-old saved 89.9 percent of the shots fired at him.

Florian Vorauer (22) has spent his entire career so far with EC-KAC, making his adult ice hockey debut for the club's Alps Hockey League team in January 2017. He has since played a total of 101 league games for the Future Team, in which he boasted a save percentage of 89.5 percent. The homegrown goalkeeper is still waiting for his first win in the first team, but in his two starts so far (2020 in Linz and 2022 in Ljubljana) he has been consistently convincing (GAA 2.00 and 91.5 SVS%).

Goaltending coach Andrej Hočevar: "I am very happy that the sporting management has decided to continue our chosen path in the area of goalkeepers. In addition to Sebastian Dahm, we are relying on two still quite young goalies who, in addition to their talent, also bring a good work ethic, so I am looking forward to continuing to work with Val Usnik and Florian Vorauer. I trust both of them to develop into very good goalkeepers, they will push each other and have a good competition for the spot between the posts."
