Standings in the "best-of-3"-series: 1:1

EC Bregenzerwald set the tone from the beginning in game two of the "best-of-three" Pre-Playoff series against the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, already leading with 2:0 and 3:1 until 33 seconds before the end of the game, to have to go into overtime at the end. In a five on five endless overtime, no decision was made in the first two periods, before in the 106th minute Waltteri Lehtonen provided the decision in favor of the ECB and forced a deciding game three.

In this, however, the home side from Gherdeina is favored. They have not lost a single home game against Bregenzerwald in AHL history (7 wins). The "Furie" is generally enormously strong at home with eight wins in a row across competitions. Bregenzerwald won two of the past six away games.
