After an eight-day break, Val Gardena returned to league action, but had to do without the three defenders Fabian Kasslatter, Michael Soelva and Patrick Nocker in the home game against the Silver Capitals. The home side got off to a flying start, with Michael Sullmann scoring just 183 seconds into the game after assists from Korhonen and McGowan. After Sullmann missed the second goal shortly afterwards, league MVP McGowan made it 2:0 in the 17th minute. Although Val Gardena continued to set the tone after the restart, Christoph Draschkowitz got the visitors on the scoreboard in the 27th minute. The "Furie" remained unimpressed and ensured the preliminary decision with a brace. First, Matteo Luisetti restored the two-goal lead, then Sullmann netted his second of the night to make it 4:1. In the final period, the home side continued to play continuously with four lines and also had chances for a fifth goal. However, the score remained 4:1 and there were no changes in the standings for both teams - Val Gardena is still in 14th place, the Capitals are bottom of the table.
