Scott Valentine started playing hockey as usual in the Canadian youth teams of the OHL, was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2009 and debuted in the American Hockey League in 2011 in the jersey of the Milwaukee Admirals: there he stayed for three years and finished his career in North America in the 2014/15 season first with the Texas Stars (AHL) and than with Idaho Steelheads (ECHL). In 2015, the defenseman moved to Europe to the DEL: after one season in Krefeld, he spent the following six seasons with the Augsburg Panthers, with whom he also played in the Champions Hockey League. In Germany, Valentine made 323 appearances, scoring a total of 84 points.

"I am looking forward to my new challenge in Bolzano," Valentine explains, "I have already come to appreciate the country and its people on the occasion of the Dolomites Cup in Neumarkt. But much more important is the history and the winning mentality of the HCB, which I also want to be a part of: I come to the city with the goal of winning the championship. My last seven years in the DEL have been fantastic, I have learned a lot for myself personally and now I want to offer this experience to the team. During those years I played several friendlies against teams from the ICEHL, many friends and ex-teammates play there, so I know the level of this league and I know that fast and technical hockey is played there and these are the very qualities I want to embody on the ice." For the Foxes' new defenseman, the goals for the season are clear: "To win, but before that we have to have a very good Regular Season: personally, I want to give more than 100%, but this is true for all of us if we want to go high. I want to be a leader on and off the ice and do everything I can to be successful. I'm entering my twelfth season as a pro and I have the following message for my new fans: I want to show you how important it is for me to win and to win as a team."
