Scott Kosmachuk (#17) of EC GRAND Immo VSV, was involved in an incident deemed as Unsportsmanlike Conduct (IIHF Rule 75). According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence, Scott Kosmachuk (#17) of EC GRAND Immo VSV, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 75 – Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

On Sunday, October 10th in Villach, an unsportsmanlike conduct incident occurred involving VSV player #17 Scott Kosmachuk. The incident is considered an inappropriate gesture in an effort to express the personal opinion of Kosmachuk, for his dislike for the situation. The inappropriate gesture was committed in an intentional or knowingly manner, leaving the full responsibility of Kosmachuk. Within society, and specifically in this case, within a sport, the gesture Kosmachuk displayed is considered insensitive.

Considering Kosmachuk is fully aware he is playing in a public setting, he must refrain from any and all forms of insensitive behaviors. Additionally, the gesture could be deemed particularly inappropriate given the present times. Kosmachuk will receive supplementary discipline for the present incident and be considered a ‘repeat offender’ for the next 24 months from the time of the verdict.
