Three games were played in the Alps Hockey League on Saturday. Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey won with 2:1 after overtime at the SHC Fassa Falcons. The HC Pustertal Wölfe celebrated an unchallenged 6:0 shutout victory over the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan suffered their seventh defeat in a row. They lost with 6:3 at the Rittner Buam. The fourth game of the day, between the EC Bregenzerwald and the VEU Feldkirch, had to be postponed due to medical precautionary measures in connection with Covid-19.

Asiago wins at Fassa after overtime
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey celebrated a 2:1 win at SHC Fassa Falcons after overtime. After goalless first 20 minutes of play, the visitors took the lead in minute 30, against the run of play. 31-year-old Matteo Tessari scored his first goal of the season. The narrow lead for ASH lasted until two minutes and 19 seconds before the end of the game, before Fassa managed to equalize in a power play. Diego Iori scored his fifth goal of the season. In overtime, it took just 32 seconds before Alex Frei scored the 2:1 game winner after Daniel Mantenuto's assist. It was the 27-year-old's fourth goal for Asiago, who celebrated their fourth win in a row. In the standings ASH climbs up to the sixth place. Fassa lost for the first time after two wins in a row and is eleventh in the league table.

Brace of Carozza and Cianfrone in shutout victory of Pustertal
The HC Pustertal Wölfe had no problems against the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and won clearly with 6:0. While Pustertal celebrated the fourth win en suite, Val Gardena conceded the third defeat in a row. Massimo Carozza and Bryson Cianfrone scored twice. However, the opening goal was scored by Danny Elliscasis. After the first period, the second-placed team from Pustertal was already with 3:0 in front. In the middle period, Pustertal scored twice. In the last period another goal from PUS followed. For goaltender Colin Furlong it was the third shutout of the season. The top performer of the past AHL week saved all 21 shots on his goal. In the standings, the gap between the "Wolves" and league leader Red Bull Hockey Juniors is now only three points. Val Gardena is tenth in the league table.



Seventh defeat in a row for Sterzing

The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan lost again. At the Rittner Buam it was the seventh defeat in a row for the Broncos. The Rittner Buam won the second game in a row. In the 6:3 home victory of the Buam, especially the first period was a goal spectacle. No less than six goals were scored in the first 20 minutes, four of them in power play. Both teams scored three times each. Right at the beginning of the middle peiod, Sterzing got a penalty, but Matthias Mantinger was unable to convert it. A few minutes later Ritten took the 4:3 lead through Michael Lang. In the final period, the hosts added two more goals. Among others, Simon Kostner scored his first brace of the season. In the standings, the "Buam" were able to move past Sterzing and are now in 13th place. WSV follows in 14th place with one point less.
