HCB Südtirol Alperia defended their lead in the table with an overtime win in Innsbruck. Despite good opportunities on both sides - with the visitors having more chances - the score was 0-0 after 60 minutes - it was the first game this season in which no goal was scored in regulation time. In over time, Brad McClure scored from close range to decide the game and HCB won their second season meeting with Innsbruck.

Fehérvár and Graz stay close to the leaders
Second-placed Hydro Fehérvár AV19 managed to get revenge against the Pioneers Vorarlberg for their defeat in the first duel of the season. After a goalless first period, the Hungarians scored twice to make it 2:0, but the visitors equalised with two powerplay goals from Nardi and Passolt. The home side scored again quickly after the restart, with Josh Atkinson's goal being the game-winner. Brown and Kuralt made the score 5:2.

The Moser Medical Graz99ers won their first game after the international break and the third-placed Styrians celebrated their first win of the season over Asiago at the third attempt. Although the Italians took the lead in the first period through top scorer Gennaro, Gooch, Roy and Bailey turned the game in the visitors' favour in the middle period. In the end, the Styrians celebrated a 5:2 victory, with Bailey scoring his second goal via an empty netter to round off the scoring.

Salzburg return to the top 6
Over 5,500 fans watched a varied game between the spusu Vienna Capitals and EC Red Bull Salzburg. The visitors got off to the better start: first Bourke capitalised on a mistake in the Caps' defence, then Wukovits benefited from a fine assist from Murphy - 0:2 after 20 minutes. The Viennese equalised in the middle period with two goals within twelve seconds, but Peter Hochkofler scored four seconds before the break to give Salzburg the lead again. In the third period, Schneider (PP) restored the two-goal lead before Franklin reduced the deficit with his second of the evening. Lucas Thaler then scored a shorthander to secure the 5:3 away win.

Close wins for Linz and Villach
Steinbach Black WIngs Linz took revenge on the KAC for the clear 5:0 defeat in September. The Upper Austrians got off to the better start on Friday and went into the first break with a 2:0 lead. Ken Ograjenšek even scored the visitors' third goal after an ideal assist by Patrick Söllinger. Maier got the KAC on the scoreboard in the final period, but Lebler restored the three-goal lead straight away. When the Linz captain had to leave the ice with a game misconduct, things became dangerous for the Black Wings once again. Klagenfurt closed the gap to 3:4 with two powerplay goals, but it stayed that way until the end. Goalie Höneckl celebrated his fourth win in his fifth appearance of the season.

HC Pustertal took an early lead in Villach through Frycklund and had the game under control for long stretches. However, EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV found a way to fight their way back into the game. Rebernig equalised in the middle period and things got even better for the Carinthians in the final period: Shortly after Scherbak only hit the post, the forward turned the game in the hosts' favour. After an ideal assist by Holway, van Nes even made it 3:1, with the South Tyroleans only managing to score the final goal.
