Austria's national men's ice hockey team started the 2023 Germany Cup with a clear 1:7 defeat against Slovakia, with Steinbach Black Wings Linz crack Nico Feldner scoring the only goal for the red-white-red selection. Head coach Roger Bader's team will face hosts Germany on Saturday at 18:00. The match can be watched live on ORF SPORT + and in the livestream.

Victory for Italy in duel between ICE nations
The Italian national team started the Sárközy Tamás Memorial Tournament with an internal ICE duel. The Azzurri won 1:0 against Slovenia. The only scorer in this match was Pascal Brunner from HCB Südtirol Alperia.

In the second game of the Sárközy Tamás Memorial Tournament, Hungary was beaten 4:5 by Ukraine. On Friday, the home team of the tournament will face Italy, while Slovenia will take on Ukraine.
