Victory of the EC-KAC II at the Steel Wings Linz

In the fourth duel of the season between the Steel Wings Linz and the EC-KAC II the guests from Klagenfurt celebrated their fourth victory. KA2 was the team that set the tone from the beginning in the 5:3 away win. It took until minute nine for the first goal of the game. KA2 captain Simon Hammerle scored the 1:0. The 22-year-old increased only one and a half minutes later in the power play to 2:0. It were the season goals four and five for the native German. Also in the power play, the visitors scored the 3:0 only twelve seconds before the end of the first period thanks to Markus Pirmann. For the 32-year-old it was already the 15th goal of the season.

In the second period, both teams scored once each. Curtis Douglas, who was loaned to the Steel Wings from the Ontario Hockey League team Windsor Spitfires just last week, scored his first goal in his third game for SWL. Only a few minutes later, the visitors scored again, this time through Samuel Witting.

The game did not change much in the third period either. The visitors were more dominant and went up with 5:1 after just over three minutes in the power play, with Rok Kapel scoring his seventh goal of the season. But also in the final period the hosts were able to score. This time the Steel Wings even managed to score twice. That's why they were able to win the final period even with 2:1. In the standings, the EC-KAC II is still in 15th place with 16 points, but has still played significantly fewer games than the direct rivals. With only two points, the Steel Wings Linz are still at the bottom of the table.
