Rafael Rotter and Ali Wukovits missed spusu Vienna Capitals’ second preseason game due to injury reasons. After about ten minutes, the Caps, who were busy on the defensive end before, produced some good chances on powerplay – without success. In the last 171 seconds of the first, the Czech side went for the preliminary decision with three straight goals, two of them shorthanded.

About five minutes played in the second, Mountfield increased their lead while Vienna was one man down. Further, the Caps had two good chances in the middle frame. After 30 minutes head coach Dave Cameron shifted the netminders, as Bernhard Starkbaum replaced Ryan Zapolski.

Right at the beginning of the last the referees called “no goal”, after a nice co-production of Sondre Olden and Ty Loney. Less than two minutes later, Taylor Vause got his colors finally on the scoreboard. About six minutes to go the Czech side hit another one and rounded off the score.
