Vienna ends losing streak in Salzburg

The spusu Vienna Capitals put an end to their nine-game losing streak with a 2-1 win after overtime at EC Red Bull Salzburg. Carsen Twarynski scored both goals against the leader of the win2day ICE Hockey League. Hydro Fehérvar AV19, the current runner-up, also suffered a defeat, losing 1-2 at home to HCB Südtirol Alperia, while third-placed EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV were victorious, beating Steinbach Black Wings Linz 3-2, ending their twelve-game point streak.

Once again shorthanded due to injuries, the visitors kept the game open against the leaders and were rewarded for their courageous performance with the late goal by Carsen Twarynski (53.), who then also scored the game winning goal for the Viennese in overtime on power play. For the Canadian, it was the first two goals in the multinational league. Salzburg was defeated in front of its home crowd for the first time this season.

Second-ranked team lost too
