Vienna celebrates late shutout victory over Graz
In the duel between the two in-form teams Moser Medical Graz99ers and spusu Vienna Capitals, the Austrian capital prevailed thanks to two late goals from Matt Bradley. While the Viennese managed to take another step towards direct quarterfinal qualification with their third win in a row, the Styrians are back in the middle of the fight for the top-10 and thus a spot for the pre-playoffs. As in the past two games, the Caps once again provided the decision in the final period. After two defensive dominated periods against Graz, the Caps put Christian Engstrand - the league's most successful goalie by save percentage - under a lot of pressure. Matt Bradley was finally able to overcome him for the first time in the 48th minute. The Canadian forward was also the one who later scored the decisive empty-netter.

Innsbruck still in the race for top-10 after shootout win
HC TIWAG Innsbruck cannot be shaken off in the race for the pre-playoff spots. HCB Südtirol Alperia suffered a razor-thin 3:4 defeat after penalty shootout in the first game after their Corona-related break. The win puts the Tyroleans just two wins behind the Moser Medical Graz99ers with five games left to play, although the Styrans have already played one game more. HCB Südtirol Alperia, on the other hand, had to vacate their position among the top-6 teams for the first time in a long time due to this defeat. After the Sharks took the lead early in this encounter, a double strike by the South Tyroleans initially let the momentum shift to tBolzano. However, the Sharks regained it in what was supposed to be the final period before Daniel Catenacci tied the game again and sent it into overtime. After a scoreless overtime McGauley brought the decision in the shootout.

Ljubljana back in Top-6
HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana made up two places in the standings after a 1-0 shutout win over EC-KAC and is now back in a quarter place. The KAC, on the other hand, missed the chance to put a damper on a direct competitor and are now back in the thick of the scramble for the top six - and that despite the fact that the Klagenfurters have one of the best goal differentials in the entire league. For the KAC, this was already the second defeat after three wins in a row - but once again it was a razor-thin margin. Miha Stebih scored the only goal of the match already in the first period. Paavo Holsa did not allow a goal and celebrated his second shutout of the season.

Znojmo back within striking distance of top-6 after must-win over Linz
HC TESLA Orli Znojmo is back within striking distance of the top-6 teams and thus the quarter-final spots in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League after a "must-win" victory over Steinbach Black Wings Linz. The Czechs completed their "regular-season sweep" in the fourth meeting with the Upper Austrians. However, the Linz team took an early lead on Tuesday through Dalibor Bortnak. But already at the beginning of the second period the Czechs took the lead and eventually prevailed 3:1.
