Villach and the Pioneers Victorious on Saturday

The ninth round of the win2day ICE Hockey League concluded on Saturday with two games. EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV celebrated a 5–1 home win against HC TIWAG Innsbruck, while Pioneers Vorarlberg earned a 4–1 road victory at Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The action continues already on Sunday with Round 10.

Villach recorded a convincing 5–1 home win over Innsbruck. The visitors initially took the lead before Kevin Hancock equalized in the 28th minute. In the final thirteen minutes, VSV decided the game with four unanswered goals. Hancock was the only player to score twice for the fifth-placed team.

Pioneers Vorarlberg also secured a strong 4–1 away win in Fehérvár. The new eleventh-placed team opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Oskar Maier. By the 43rd minute, the visitors extended their lead to 4–0 before Fehérvár managed a consolation goal shortly after. Pioneers goaltender Alex Caffi stopped 21 shots and narrowly missed out on a shutout.
