Villach hits the road again, travels to Linz on Tuesday

After two overtime wins on the road, the EC Panaceo VSV travels to the EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz on Tuesday for their third straight away game, while Linz heads into its seventh home game during the last 29 days, losing the past two at home. It will be the first season meeting of therse two clubs, with Linz winning twelve out of the last 15 home games against Villach.

  • The EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz and the EC Panaceo VSV meet for the first time this season. This game is scheduled on Friday again, then broadcasted live on Sky Sport Austria.
  • While Linz was free of play on Sunday, Villach grabbed a 3:2 OT-win at Vienna, cheering the second straight victory on the road.
  • Both teams have 27 points gained so far and are placed fifth (VSV) resp. sixth (BWL) in standings. With a win after regulation the successful team can catch up the EC-KAC and the spusu Vienna Capitals (both have 30 points).
  • Linz heads into its seventh home game within the past month. Since October 20th, Linz grabbed at least one point in any home during that time.
  • In eight road games this season, the VSV only once succeeded after regulation, but the “eagles” snatched up two OT-wins in the past two away games.
  • Linz won twelve out of the last 15 home games against Villach. Villach’s last road win at Linz was on September 17th, 2017 (6:5).
  • Overall, Linz won 64 games out of 125 against Villach since 2003-04.
  • Past season BWL grabbed five out of six, winning three times without a goal against.
  • After an upper body injury Mark McNeill will be back for Linz, which misses Gerd Kargl and Julian Pusnik. Lukas Schluderbacher and Nico Brunner will be out in Villach.
