Raffl debut in VSV derby win
At the debut of Philadelphia Flyers loaner Michael Raffl, EC GRAND Immo VSV celebrated a 2:1 victory in the 331st duel with the EC-KAC. After three recent defeats to their local rivals, the "eagles" rejoined the prestigious duel, winning for the 63rd time since the league was founded in the summer of 2000. Villach thus also won their fourth home game in a row. In a lively, fast-paced opening frame, only goals were missing. In the middle section, VSV, which appeared more stable on the defensive side and was given a lot of flexibility in the offensive by Michael Raffl, took the lead: Christof Wappis (24th) scored a rebound. But the KAC was able to compensate, through Lukas Haudum (34.) - but only 100 seconds later the "eagles" regained the lead as VSV top scorer Sahir Gill (35.) successfully completed a combination worth seeing. In the final third no more goals were scored, because on the one hand Kristers Gudlevskis shone in the Villach goal (28 saves) and on the other hand the penalty killing was well executed.

Salzburg with third straight win

EC Red Bull Salzburg has extended its winning streak with the 4:3 home win over Hydro Fehérvár AV19 and has now been without a defeat for three games, scoring the maximum number of points. For the Hungarians it was the second defeat against the "Red Bulls", who thus also scored points in their seventh home game, within five days. Salzburg promptly had the right answer to a short-handed lead by Colton Hargrove (11./SH1), who scored in the seventh consecutive game, thanks to Paul Huber (13.) and immediately after the restart through John Hughes (21), who benefited from a Janus mistake and scored his first goal of the season. The decision was made by NHL prospect JJ Peterka, who scored the second brace for Salzburg after Sunday. Donat Szita (46) and Alex Petan were able to shorten twice for the Hungarians, but could not prevent the third consecutive away defeat.

Leader makes it seven in a row

Leader HCB Südtirol Alperia continues to be the top team in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League: the 4:1 home win over the Dornbirn Bulldogs was already the seventh victory of the "foxes" in a row, the second against the Vorarlberg side this season. After a hard-fought first period, the home team took more and more control of the games: The lead of Mike Halmo (30.) was doubled by Marco Insam (33.) just a few minutes later, and he then laid the foundation for victory with his second goal in the 47th minute - his fifth brace for Bolzano ever. Dornbirn's consolidation goal by Devin Brosseau (55.) was acknowledged by an empty netter from Anthony Bardaro (59.).

Vienna takes a new goalie
Moreover, the spusu Vienna Capitals took Calvin Pickard from the Detroit Red Wings on loan to replace Sebastian Wraneschitz, who is nominated for the Austrian U20 national team to compete in the World Juniors from December 5th on. Pickard stays until the end of 2020.
