The EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV won 3-2 at home against Steinbach Black Wings Linz and thus, after Bolzano and Innsbruck, defeated a better ranked team for the third time in a row. For the "Adler" it was even the fourth win in a row – their longest winning streak in the current season so far. Anthony Luciani (7G|4A), who has been playing outstanding since moving to Villach, put the home team in the lead after 26 minutes, Felix Maxa (33.) and Marco Richter (51.) made the further goals for VSV in an encounter that was then closely contested until the end.

Fehérvár remains unbeaten after IIHF break too
Vice-champion Hydro Fehérvár AV19 also finished the first game week after the IIHF break without losing points, as the Hungarians defeated EC-KAC 3-1 at home and ended Klagenfurt's three-game winning streak. Gleason Furnier (10.) put the home team in the lead, Janos Hari (30.) and Alex Petan (35./PP1) provided the preliminary decision in the second period. Goalie Olivier Roy again showed an outstanding performance with 31 saves. His goal ban was only broken after 174 minutes and 36 seconds by Klagenfurt's consolation goal from Rok Ticar.

Vienna cheers second win within 20 hours
The spusu Vienna Capitals finished their South Tyrol road trip with six points. After the success on Saturday in Bolzano, the Viennese followed it up with a 4-2 win at HC Pustertal Wölfe in Bruneck. As the day before, top scorer Matt Bradley shone with a brace plus assist. The deciding factor were two quick goals by the visitors within 14 seconds (10.) and a strong penalty killing.

Engstrand posts shutout
Christian Engstrand recorded a shutout on Sunday, making 21 saves to help the Moser Medical Graz99ers to a 1-0 home win over EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Swede remained without a goal for the third time this season. The game-winner was scored by Andrew Yogan after just five minutes - the forward scored in his second game for the Styrians, for whom Niklas Olausson made his debut. For Graz it was the first win after three defeats in a row.
