In a high-class 357th Carinthian derby, it was Philipp Lindner who scored in the 62nd minute to give Villach its first derby win in over a year. In between, they conceded four defeats in a row. Things did not look good for the home side on Sunday until shortly before the end on Sunday too. John Hughes only scored the important equalizer two and a half minutes before the end of the third period. The EC-KAC had previously taken the lead twice. After a goalless opening period, it was Daniel Obersteiner who made it 1:0 for the visitors (22.). However, Maximilian Rebernig equalized with a volley around nine minutes later. It remained 1:1 until the 57th minute, when Steven Strong put the seventh-placed team from Klagenfurt back in front, but Villach found an answer again and eventually celebrated a victory in front of 3.465 fans in the sold-out Villach Stadthalle. The “Eagles” climbed to eleventh place in the table. The KAC suffered their third defeat in a row.

Bolzano wins at the Pioneers
League leader HCB Südtirol Alperia had to fight for a long time at the Pioneers Vorarlberg, but were able to win 4:2 in the end. Adam Helewka scored the 3:2 game-winner just eight minutes before the end of the game. The final score was achieved with an empty-net goal shortly before the end. It was the third defeat in the last five games for the Pioneers, who had managed to equalize at 1:1 and 2:2 in the meantime. They slipped to thirteenth place in the table. Bolzano picked up their sixth win from the last seven games and are now five points ahead of first-pursuer Graz.

Graz take revenge
The Styrians beat Olimpija Ljubljana 4:2. The two teams had already faced each other in Slovenia on October 13, but back then Olimpija won 4:2. Marcus Vela was the player of the match with a hat-tric this timek. The center scored to make it 0:2, 0:3 and 1:4. Graz scored a goal in both the first and second periods, in the final period the home side was able to reduce the deficit to 1:3 after 0:3 and then make it 2:4 shortly before the end. In the end, however, the Slovenians, who are sixth in the table, suffered their fifth defeat of the season.

Pustertal turns up the heat in the final period
In the fourth game of the day, HC Pustertal won against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 7:2. The South Tyroleans led 0:1, 1:2 and 2:3 in a game that was close for a long time.
