In the twelve games that the Vorarlberg native played in September and October, he scored three goals and made two assists. Maximilian Preiml (2003) - EC-KAC
EC-KAC's Maximilian Preiml has already played twelve games in September and October this season - almost as many as in the past two years combined, in which he made a total of thirteen appearances. The defender also scored his first goals in the win2day ICE Hockey League this season: he scored once in both the 3:2 overtime win against Salzburg and the 5:3 victory over Vienna.

Tommy Purdeller (2004) - HC Pustertal
Tommy Purdeller from Bruneck is the youngest player nominated in the Voting for the Young Star of the Month September/October. The 20-year-old returned to his hometown club in the summer and made an immediate impact. With five goals and seven assists in September and October, Purdeller is his team's third-best scorer. He managed to score in half of his 14 appearances and has a plus-minus record of +3. The forward spent the previous two seasons in the Canadian OHL, before that he spent many of his youth years in Salzburg.

Marcel Mahkovec (2003) - Olimpija Ljubljana
The 20-year-old Marcel Mahkovec is the current “Young Star” of the win2day ICE Hockey League, after narrowly winning against Finn van Ee of the EC-KAC in the season poll last campaign. In the current season, the Slovenian scored two goals and four assists in September and October, and he also had a +/- of +1. Mahkovec, who is in his second season for Olimpija, played his highest-scoring game so far in the 4:2 home win against Graz, where he impressed with two goals and an assist.

Voting procedure
First, five monthly winners are determined. Four players per month are nominated to take part in the voting. Due to only a few matchdays in September 2024, the first two months have been combined into one election. The five monthly winners will then compete for the title "Young Star of the 2024/25 season" at the start of the playoffs.

The election consists of two components: in addition to the fan voting on the league website, the TV experts from Austria, Italy and Slovenia also vote. If two or more players receive the same number of votes, they will be ranked according to the result of the fan vote.
