VSV and Graz remain Salzburg-Chaser

After the 6th round in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga the EC Panaceo VSV and the Moser Medical Graz99ers are still chasing leader EC Red Bull Salzburg. While the Carinthians quit their road-losing-streak with a 8:4 victory at Dornbirn Bulldogs, the Styrian turned around a 0:2-deficit at Hydro Fehérvár AV19 to stay second and third in standings. Further, the EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz cheered the first season win in regulation, beating reining champion EC-KAC on the road.

VSV’s first road win after about ten mounth
With an 8:4 victory at Dornbirn Bulldogs the EC Panaceo VSV stopped its road-losing-streak impressively and got the first win after nine consecutive loss. In their overall 400th Erste Bank Eishockey Liga game the Bulldogs suffered another  defeat in front of their home crowd and remain pointless in this season’s home games. The guests got off a great start, leading 3:0 after thirteen minutes and they kept the three-goal lead until the second frame. There the „eagles“ increased their lead to 6:1 immediately and got the preliminary decision. It was Villach’s first win at Vorarlberg since December 15th back in 2017 and overall a high scoring game, with twelve goals had never been scored before in that duel.



Graz comes back after two-goal deficit

The Moser Medical Graz99ers patched Friday’s first season-loss, got a 4:3 road win at Hydro Fehérvár AV19 and moved to third spot in standings. With Daniel Oberkofler back in the squad, the Styrian celebrated their 16th victory against the Hungarian side, the first after two losses in a row. After the home team took a 2:0-lead in the first, converting a penalty-shot and benefiting on a Graz’ defensive mistake, the Styrian picked it up in the second and Oberkofler's brace gave the guests a 3:2 lead after 45 minutes. While Sarauer’s deflection tied it for the hosts, Greg Squires third goal of the season secured 99er’s fourth season win.


Linz wins first game in regulation
In the third season game the EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz got its first win in regulation, snatching up a 4:2 road win at EC-KAC. The reigning champion suffered its first defeat against Linz after five wins in a row, and for the first time after ten consecutive home games the Carinthians did not get one single point. With his 200th regular season goal in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga Brian Lebler opened the scoring for the guest, which doubled up still in the first. After the hosts balanced the game in the second, Linz took the win with two goals on PP within 67 seconds at the beginning of the last, when David Fischer got penalized for spearing. It was Klagenfurt’s first goals against being one man down this season.
