Sunday’s European Women’s Hockey League action brought several decisive results. The VSV Lady Hawks earned their first win of the season, while MAC Budapest handed Aisulu Almaty their first loss of the campaign. The EVB Eagles South Tyrol and KSV Highlanders also celebrated victories.

European Women’s Hockey League
Defending champions Aisulu Almaty suffered their first defeat of the season as MAC Budapest delivered a convincing 5-1 win in Zeltweg. The Hungarian side took an early lead and maintained control throughout the game.

There was celebration in Villach, where the VSV Lady Hawks claimed their first-ever EWHL win. The home team dominated Budapest Jegkorong Akademia and recorded a clear 5-0 victory.

The EVB Eagles South Tyrol edged Tauron Metropolia Silesia 1-0 in a tight contest. Philbert scored the game-winner midway through the third period.

In Kapfenberg, the KSV Highlanders defeated the DEC Salzburg Eagles 5-1. After conceding the opening goal, the Highlanders turned the game around and pulled away with three goals in the final frame.

The matchup between the KSV Highlanders and DEC Salzburg Eagles also counted for the win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League standings. With this win, the Highlanders close in on league leaders Sabres St. Pölten, while Salzburg remain in third place.
