West Derby & "Duel of the Capitals" on Sunday

On Sunday it comes to the first west derby of the season. The Dornbirn Bulldogs, currently third in the table and thus the best Austrian team in the ranking, will face the HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie. In addition, this season's first "Duel of the Capitals" between the spusu Vienna Capitals and the iClinic Bratislava Capitals will take place. The Austrian Capitals are currently only thirteenth in the table and therefore under pressure against the seventh in the table from Slovakia. In the other matches there will be the semifinal rematch between the EC Red Bull Salzburg and the EC-KAC, the EC GRAND Immo VSV will duel with the Moser Medical Graz99ers and league newcomer HK SZ Olimpija will meet league returnee HC Orli Znojmo.

Before that, they were victorious at table leader Fehérvár with 3:1. Innsbruck have four points less on their account and are eighth in the table. The Tyroleans have been victorious in three of their last five games. On Friday, however, they were defeated by Fehérvár with 4:1. In three of the last four duels at the Messestadion Dornbirn, the guests from Innsbruck prevailed.

The spusu Vienna Capitals will play their second home game this weekend on Sunday. In the "Duel of the Capitals" they face the iClinic Bratislava Capitals. Both teams were successful on Friday. The Austrian Capitals prevailed against Pustertal with 4:3-OT. It was the first win for the Viennese after three defeats in a row. In terms of the table, this currently means only the thirteenth place for last season's semifinalist. Bratislava defeated defending champion Klagenfurt 3:2-SO and celebrated the second win in a row.
