win2day ICE Hockey League enjoys boom in attendance

The win2day ICE Hockey League is currently in the international break before the exciting final spurt for the last playoff and pre-playoff tickets begins next Tuesday. The enormous balance in the current season is also inspiring the fans. In 286 games so far, 846,030 spectators have filled the arenas - an increase of 14% compared to the previous season and the highest average since the 2019/20 season.

The EC-KAC currently leads the table and is the only team to have already secured a play-off ticket. Behind them, a lot can still happen in the remaining rounds of the Regular Season and the last word has not yet been spoken in the battle for the pre-playoffs. The high level of balance and the exciting matches in the win2day ICE Hockey League also ensure that the arenas are extremely well attended throughout the season.

The spusu Vienna Capitals currently have the highest average attendance. Although the Capitals are only tenth in the table, an average of 4,623 fans come to the STEFFL Arena. The Viennese are also the first club to exceed the 100,000 fan mark this season. League leaders EC-KAC follow in second place with an average of 4,034 fans. They were always sold out their last eight home games. Steinbach Black Wings Linz (3,813), Hydro Fehérvár AV19 (3,586) and HCB Südtirol Alperia (3,362) are also among the five teams in the league with the highest attendance.

The best-attended game so far this season was the match between Vienna and Klagenfurt on New Year's Day, which was played in front of 7,022 fans in the sold-out STEFFL Arena. The South Tyrol derby between Bolzano and Pustertal follows in second place, attracting 6,738 spectators to the Sparkasse Arena, which was also sold out. In total, there have already been four matches with more than 6,000 spectators and 43 matches in which the 4,000 mark was broken.

The significantly higher fan influx compared to last season is very positive: after 286 games played, an average of 2,595 fans came to the arenas last season, while this season there are already 2,958 spectators per game - an increase of 14%. The last time more fans were counted in the arenas at the February break was in the 2019/20.
