Gracnar earned first season shutout
Just 242 seconds were played in Salzburg, when Raphael Herburger finished a perfect pass from John Hughes into the upper corner – 1:0. The Red Bulls continued to make pressure, but goalie MacMillan Carruth and the post stopped the Austrians from scoring again. Late in the first period Fehervar AV19 became dangerous as well, but they stayed unlucky: First Juha Uotila just hit the post and then David Gilbert was stopped by goalie Luka Gracnar. In period 2 the game got chippy. The Hungarians were on Power Play for several minutes and fired 18 shots on the net, but all were stopped by Gracnar. In period 3 Salzburg was the chief on the ice again. Herburger deflected a shot from Dominique Heinrich and gave his team a 2:0-lead (45.). Carruth was under pressure in the final minutes, but he did not allow a third goal by the Red Bulls. Daniel Koger had another chance for Fehervar AV19, but Gracnar stopped the puck and celebrated his first season shutout.

Bozen left Vienna with three points
The Vienna Capitals had more from the game, but Chris DeSousa‘s Power Play goal gave the Foxes a 1:0-lead. The Austrians stayed unimpressed and continued to make pressure. Ryan McKiernan beat goalie Pekka Tuokkola with a shot from the distance, but the goal was not allowed by the referees. Besides the Caps missed further chances from Großlercher (12.). Peter Schneider (14.) and Macgregor Sharp (19.), who hit the post. The picture did not change after the re-start: Bozen defended well, while the Caps missed their efficiency. The best chances had Ali Wukovits (28.), Kelsey Tessier (30./post) and Peter Schneider (36.) from short distance. Bozen extended their lead early in period 3: Dominic Monardo finished a perfect pass from Angelo Micelli into the open net after just 46 seconds. The Caps did not give up and answered with the 2:1 from Riley Holzapfel. Holzapfel finished a combination with  Rafael Rotter and Jerry Pollastrone. On the other side Viktor Schweitzer quickly netted the 3:1. The Austrians tried to come back, but Tessiers shorthander was not enough anymore. Bozen won 3:2 in Vienna and took three points back home.
