Linz comeback came too late
The Liwest Black Wings Linz lost against EV Zug with 2:3. The Swiss Team took control in the first period and took the lead. In the second period started like the first. Zug played a high speed game. Viktor Stalberg scored widely open the 2:0. Only two minutes after that Zug increased in powerplay to 3:0. Game seemed to be decided at the beginning of the third, but Bracken Kearns brought his team back with two goals. But the comeback came too late and Zug won with 3:2.
Bulldogs lost at Ravensburg
The Dornbirn Bulldogs had to take a 2:3 defeat at Ravensburg. David Zucker opened the scoring for the Germans. In the second period Rob Bordson managed to tie the game. Only moments later Daniel Pfaffengut recreated the lead for Ravensburg. Still in the second the period Ondrej Pozivil even increased to 3:1. Only 24 seconds after the beginning of the final period Reid narrowed the gap to 2:3. But the Bulldogs didn’t manage to tie the game anymore.
Vienna Capitals lost first game at Mercedes-Benz Rent Cup
After the pre-season wins against MAC Budapest and HC 05‘ iClinic Banska Bystrica the Vienna Capitals had to take a clear 0:5 defeat against the THOMAS SABO Icetigers. Nürnberg benefited from a double powerplay situation in the first period for the 1:0. Four minutes after that Phil Depuis increased to 2:0. The second period brought no goals. In the final period the hosts kept building their lead and scored three more goals. The Vienna Capitals are now heading into the game for the third place against Straubing Tigers or BK Mlada Boleslav.
Innsbrucker Haie extend winning-streak
The Innsbrucker Innsbrucker Haie booked a close 5:4 win against Kaufbeuren. Innsbruck started strong in the first period. After only two minutes Mike Boivin opened the scoring of successful first period. Andrew Yogan and two times Levko Koper increased the lead to 4:0 after the first 20 minutes. In the second period Kaufbeuren scored the first goal. Moments before the second period the hosts narrowed the gap to 2:4. Kaufbeuren started the final period like they ended the second and created a one-goal-game again. In the 50th minutes the home team even managed to tie the game – again in powerplay, like the three goals before. Five minutes before the end Lavoie captured the lead for Innsbruck again and decided the game.
VSV with clear defeat against HC Energie
The Czechs started fast and scored the first goal of the evening. In the 18ths minute the HC Energie increased in powerplay to 2:0. In the second period MacGregor didn’t show any nerves and opened the scoring for EC Panaceo VSV. Only two minutes later Jamie Fraser tied the game. HC Energie had the quick answer and recaptured the lead. Still in the second period the Czechs even recreated the two goals lead. In the thirf period HC Energie scored three more goals and won with 6:2.
Bolzano had to take sensitive defeat
The HCB Südtirol Alperia lost at the Vinschgau Cup with 0:5 against ERC Ingolstadt. The Germans opened the scoring in the second minute. Bolzano took many penalties and Mike Collins and Petr Taticek increased to 3:0 in the second period. In the final period Kyler Kelleher created the result of 5:0.
99ers celebrate close success against Augsburg
The Moser Medical Graz 99ers booked a 1:0 win at Augsburg. The host had the better start, but no team scored in the first period. 99ers Goalie Robin Rahm saved a penalty shot. Minutes after that Kainz striked for the 99ers. In the final period Rahm saved another penalty-shot. In the 52nd minute the fans of Augsburg already celebrated, but the goal was denied because high sticking. The 99ers finally celebrated a 1:0 success.
