Leading duo gets going in the second period
HC Pustertal defended the top of the league with a 5:2 win over Cortina. The game was tied at one after the first but Lukas De Lorenzo Meo and Max Oberrauch (PP) got the hosts on winning ways. Cortina top scorer Riccardo Lacedelli pulled one back again but the wolves got their fourth successive win. With an empty netter in the final minute Oberrauch even got a hat trick.

Persuer Ljubljana generated a lot of chances at bottom-club Linz but could not score in the first. After a goalless opening period, Nik Simsic broke the spell early in the middle frame with scoring a brace. The Slovenes extended their lead to 4:0 after 40 minutes and added three more in the third. With this 7:0 victory they equalized their highest AHL win (7:0 against Zell am See on 1.3.2018).

Ritten and Lustenau extend winning streaks
Lustenau beat Feldkirch in a spectecular derby 7:3 in front of their home crowd. Both scored once in the first but after the restart it was all Lustenau with the lions taking a 5:2 lead. The fifth goal was a shorthander by new arrival Ryan Glenn. A Wallenta brace made the game safe in the third and Lustenau celebrated their fifth win in a row.

The Rittner Buam earned their fourth successive win when beating Kitzbühel 4:2. After a goalless first the hosts scored three unanswered goals and looked like the winners. However, Kitzbühel made it a one-goal game again and it was thrilling until the final minute when Alex Frei's empty netter made the final decision.

Four teams come closer to the top 6
With 6th-placed Cortina losing, four teams came closer to a Master round placement. Despite conceding an early goal against, 7th-palced Gherdeina held the upper hand at Sterzing, 2:1. It was the fifth successive defeat for the Broncos. Zell am See got an upset victory in Asiago. The Austrians took a 2:0 and 4:2 lead in the second but the hosts always struck back. In the end Zell am See killed the clock successfully for a 6:5 road win

9th-placed Jesenice beat EC-KAC II 5:1 at home. With the young Austrians doing some defensive mistakes, the Slovenes had a 3:0 lead in the first. In the 33th minute Andrej Tavzelj scored the night's last goal. The fans in Canazei saw some more goals when Fassa beat the Red Bull Hockey Juniors 6:3. Derek Eastman opened the scoring after only three minutes, Joseph Mizzi and Michele Marchetti both scored a brace for the Italians.

Big comeback of Silver Caps
Just a few days after suffering a big 1:15 defeat at Salzburg, EC Bregenzerwald showed an improved performance and had a 4:1 lead against Vienna after two periods. The Silver Capitals bounced back in the third, though, and Fabian Ranftl forced overtime with a last minute goal. In the shootout Henrik Neubauer became the hero for Vienna's first road win this season.
