After defeating league leaders Bolzano 3–0 on Saturday, the Sabres St. Pölten followed up with another strong performance on Sunday, beating the Graz99ers Huskies 3–1. The visitors from Styria, who sit at the bottom of the table with three points, got off to the better start and took the lead in the 3rd minute. The Sabres, who climbed to third place in the EWHL standings, equalized in the 13th minute and turned the game around completely in the 37th. It remained a tight contest until the 52nd minute, when the reigning win2day AWHL champions and current third-placed team in the AWHL table sealed the win.

Shootout win for Salzburg
The matchup between the VSV Lady Hawks and the DEC Salzburg Eagles turned into a real thriller. Davidson Adams put Salzburg ahead in the second period, but Miljone and Pietraszova turned the game around for the hosts. Shortly before the end, Apsite tied it up on the power play, sending the contest to overtime and eventually to a shootout. There, Davidson Adams once again kept her cool and scored the decisive goal to secure the 3–2 victory for Salzburg. Goaltender Kristiana Apsite shone with 33 saves, laying the foundation for the road win. It was Salzburg’s second victory in six AWHL games, while the league newcomers from Carinthia suffered their third defeat in six outings.

Lakers with second straight defeat in Budapest

All five goals in Sunday’s matchup came between the 10th and 25th minute. Budapest took a 2–0 lead before the Lakers cut the deficit late in the first period. Early in the second, the Akadémia restored their two-goal advantage at 3–1, and although the Lakers responded quickly to make it 3–2, they couldn’t find the equalizer.
