The Red Bull Hockey Juniors and KHL Sisak, the leading teams of the Alps Hockey League, both celebrated victories on Saturday. Salzburg defended the top spot with a convincing home win over Gherdeina, while Sisak earned three important road points in Zell am See. EC Bregenzerwald picked up a key victory in Ritten, and there were also home wins for Kitzbühel, Asiago, and Cortina.
Red Bull Hockey Juniors – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it 5:2
The Juniors started strong and stayed in control throughout. Jesse Juhola scored twice, including an early powerplay goal, and added another in the second period. Benedikt Krainer, Vadim Schreiner, and Maxim Eliseev also found the net to secure Salzburg’s sevenths win in the past eight games consecutive home win and keep them atop the standings.
EK Die Zeller Eisbären – KHL Sisak 1:3
KHL Sisak kept pace with the Juniors thanks to a hard-fought win in Zell am See. Bohdan Panasenko opened the scoring on the powerplay, and Marijus Dumcius doubled the lead just moments later. Zell’s Paul Schmid made it 1:2 late in the third, but Danila Larionovs sealed the deal with an empty-netter.
Rittner Buam SkyAlps – EC Bregenzerwald 3:5
EC Bregenzerwald earned their fourth straight victory by defeating Ritten on the road. The hosts took an early lead through Brandon Alderson, but Roberts Lipsbergs and Markus Mußbacher turned the game around in the middle frame. Fabian Ranftl added another, and Toivo Laaksonen sealed it late with an empty-net goal.
Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel – Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 5:1
Kitzbühel put in a dominant performance on home ice to collect their sevenths win of the season. Yoan Loshing led the way with a goal and two assists, while Lukas Waschnig, Jakob Engelhart, Henrik Hochfilzer, and Clemens Krainz also scored. Markus Gratzer stopped 28 of 29 shots for a strong .966 save percentage.
HC Migross Asiago – Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 7:3
Asiago booked another win with an offensive showcase in front of 2,220 fans. Alessandro Parco and Ryan Valentini led the yellow-red team, while Jose Magnabosco Aguirre and Robert Calisti added goals of their own. Despite a solid effort, the Broncos couldn’t keep up with Asiago’s depth and puck movement.
S.G. Cortina Hafro – HDD Jesenice 5:2
Cortina returned to winning ways with a convincing 5:2 home victory over Jesenice. The hosts set the tone early and never looked back after building a three-goal cushion in the opening period. Giorgio Panciera and Filippo Pompanin each registered two points, while goalie Antti Karjalainen stood tall to secure the win.
