Zagreb celebrates first preseason win

KHL Medvescak Zagreb has posted a shutout in their second preseason game. The Croatians celebrated a 1:0 victory against HC Energie Karlovy Vary (CZE). Fehervar AV19 needed a shootout to win against DEL-club Krefeld Pinguine. The Hungarians advanced to the Final of the Müller Fanshop Cup in Dresden on Sunday. EC-KAC had to accept an unlucky defeat and lost 1:3 against Kölner Haie.

Zagreb succeeded shutout win

KHL Medvescak Zagreb has grabbed his first preseason victory. The “bears” defeated Czech club HC Energie Karlovy Vary by 1:0 and succeeded a shutout win. New-arrival Jordan Samuels-Thomas scored the game-winner in the middle frame.

Fehervar AV19 takes win after shootout

Fehervar AV19 has reached the final of the Müllers Fanshop Cup in Dresden, Germany. The Hungarians won against the German team Krefeld Pinguine (DEL) after shootout. Tero Koskiranta, who played at Zagreb last season, took the lead for the team of the Erste Bank Eishockey League. In the middle frame the Germans converted two chances during powerplay situations and turned the game. Krefeld increased his lead at the beginning of the last period. But Fehervar succeeded a comeback: The Hungarians scored the second goal in a power play situation and tied the game about eight minutes to go. In the end Fehervar decided the game in the shootout and created the result of 4:3. On Sunday the Hungarians will face German team Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven in the final.

KAC suffered a close defeat

EC-KAC has suffered a close defeat at Vintschgau Cup in Italy. Without forward Johannes Bischofsberger, who was down with influenza, the Carinthinas lost to Kölner Haie 1:3. Thomas Koch scored the first goal of the game late in the first. Further, EC-KAC was about to take more control of the game, but the Germans tied the score within their third power play situation (27.). The sharks scored again and increased to 2:1 in the middle of the last frame. The Austrians tried everything to tie the game in the remaining time. Finally they received an empty netter and lost 1:3. EC-KAC will continue his preseason on Sunday against ERC Ingolstadt and will get the fifth chance for the first win in the preparation.
