Zell am See can crown an unblemished intermediate round with a win and clinch their eighth victory in their eighth game. While the league leaders prevailed in the derby at Kitzbühel after over time on Thursday, Cortina suffered a clear 1:8 defeat in Jesenice. The fifth-placed Italians still have a theoretical chance of fourth place, which would mean home advantage in the quarter-finals. While Zell am See has won its last twelve games, Cortina has conceded five defeats in its last six games. In the direct season comparison, the score is 2:2.

After four defeats from their last five games, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps have slipped to fourth place in the Master Round. Two points ahead of them in third place are Jesenice, who have alternated wins and defeats in their last six games. The two teams have faced each other four times in the league this season, with each team recording two wins.

Possible decision in the pre-playoffs
The second games in the "best-of-three" series of the pre-playoffs will be played on Saturday. Celje put themselves in a good starting position with an away win in Sterzing. The Slovenians can now secure their place in the quarter-finals in front of a home crowd. While Celje have only won two of their last eleven home games, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan have been victorious in four of their last five away games.

After the overtime defeat in game one - when the Croatians let a two-goal lead slip away - Sisak are also under pressure against Merano. After seven wins in a row, however, the South Tyroleans are full of confidence. Merano have won three of their four meetings this season.

Gardena also needs a home win to force a deciding game in the series against Bregenzerwald. On Thursday, the team from Vorarlberg won 3:1 at home. The South Tyroleans must now achieve a turnaround, having lost their last six games. The Vorarlberg side has been beaten nine times in their last ten away games.
