In a derby showdown between the top two teams in the Alps Hockey League, EK Die Zeller Eisbären crowned themselves the new league leaders, pushing Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel down to second place by just one point! The “Eisbären” secured their 5–4 victory with a late game-winner on the road in Kitzbühel. Additionally, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps triumphed with a 3–1 away win over SIJ Acroni Jesenice, while KHL Sisak claimed a 3–0 victory against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. In the remaining games, EC Bregenzerwald and the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers also emerged victorious.
In the top game of the night, EK Die Zeller Eisbären, the new league leaders, defeated the now runner-up team, Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel, with a 5–4 road win in front of 1,250 spectators. Kitzbühel took control early, establishing a lead with two goals, including the ninth goal of the season by their top scorer, Christopher Schutz. However, Zell am See responded with two goals of their own, including Max Stiegler’s first of the season, ending the first period in a 2–2 tie. An early goal in the second period by Kitzbühel went unanswered, and Sebastian Christiansen extended the lead to 4–2 with his second goal of the game in the third period. The “Eisbären” did not back down, however, scoring three consecutive goals to ultimately turn the game in their favor, including the 4–5 game-winner by Fredrik Widen in a five-on-three power play.
Ritten Wins Against Jesenice
Last season’s champions, Rittner Buam SkyAlps, celebrated a road victory over SIJ Acroni Jesenice. Ritten set the tone in the first period with a goal by Alan Lobis, leaving Jesenice scoreless. A power-play goal by Santeri Sillanpää in the second period tied the game for Jesenice, but a quick response from Ritten and another goal extended the lead for the South Tyroleans. With a scoreless final period, Ritten secured the win despite being outshot 34 to 18 by Jesenice.
KHL Sisak Triumphs Over Red Bull Hockey Juniors
League newcomer KHL Sisak won their away game with a 3–0 victory over the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Sisak opened the scoring with a goal by Carson Briere in the first period, while the Juniors from Salzburg remained scoreless. Two consecutive goals in the second period extended the lead for Sisak, including Petar Peceric’s first goal and Bruno Idzan’s twelfth of the season. With no goals in the third period, Sisak celebrated their win in Salzburg despite being outshot 60 to 31. Vilim Rosandic recorded his second shutout of the season, achieving both within three games.

EC Bregenzerwald celebrated a 4–3 home win in a penalty-heavy game against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, lifting themselves up from last place in the standings. The scoring opened with a goal by Bregenzerwald, but two quick goals turned the game in favor of the “Broncos,” ending the first period with a 1–2 score. A goal eight minutes into the second period by David König tied the game for Bregenzerwald, and another goal before the second intermission put them in the lead. Despite one goal each in the final period, Bregenzerwald managed to secure their victory.
Hockey Unterland Cavaliers Win South Tyrolean Derby
