The quarterfinals of the Alps Hockey League will go into the fourth round on Tuesday. While HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and S.G. Cortina already have the second matchpuck, league returnee EK Die Zeller Eisbären can fix the semifinal spot too. The team from Salzburg secured the first matchpuck last Saturday in Lustenau. All three games of the evening will be available in the PPV-Livestream.

The EK Die Zeller Eisbären leads against the EHC Lustenau in the "best-of-five" series with 2:1 and thus has the first matchpuck on Tuesday. Last Saturday, the Polar Bears prevailed in Lustenau with 4:3 in overtime. Daniel Ban scored the game-winner in the 92nd minute of play. For the 28-year-old it was the first goal in this year's playoffs. It was the third away win in the third game of the series. All games were decided by just a one-goal difference. Twice it went into overtime.

The HC Gherdeina valgardena.it kept its semifinal chances intact thanks to a surprisingly clear 5:1 win at HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. In the "best-of-five" series, the South Tyroleans reduced the score to 1:2. For Jesenice, it was the first defeat after five wins in a row before. In Gherdeina, the Slovenians, who won phase one of the Regular Season, are the clear favorites. They have won seven of their eight encounters at the "Furie" so far. The only defeat dates back to October 28th, 2017.

In addition to Val Gardena, the Rittner Buam were also able to record their first win last Saturday, bringing the quarterfinal series against S.G. Cortina Hafro to 1:2. The AHL premiere champion from South Tyrol narrowly prevailed with 1:0 in overtime in an evenly matched game.
