41 wins and only eleven defeats - that's the current season record of the EK Zeller Eisbären. After winning the regular season, the Pinzgau club also secured first place in the Master Round. Head coach Marcel Rodman's side is the only unbeaten team in the playoffs. After a strong regular season - four points behind Zell am See in third place - Jesenice lost five of eight games in the intermediate round and slipped to fourth place. In the post-season, the Slovenians showed their best hockey again, losing only one game against Cortina and dethroning Ritten with a sweep.

While Zell am See became the first Austrian team to reach an AHL final, Jesenice made it to the season decider for the third time. In 2023, the Slovenians also secured the title for the only time to date. The two finalists have already met five times this season, with the Austrians winning four times. The Steelers' only victory came away from home
