The "Eisbären" were more active and creative overall, and had a strong backstop in goalie Max Zimmermann (37 saves). In Lustenau, the team from Zell has won three of their last four games, at the end of September - in the last comparison - they won 3-1. However, Lustenau has worked very well at home recently, especially defensively, only conceding a maximum of two goals per game. For the "Eisbären", it is about the second quarterfinal participation in a row.

The team from Sterzing celebrated a 3-2 home victory at the start of the "best-of-3" series. Twice the South Tyroleans made up a deficit before Shawn McBride scored the game-winner five minutes before the end. The "Broncos" were clearly more offensive in game one, directing 45 shots on the opponent's goal. In the basic round, Sterzing took an emphatic 8-0 win in Dornbin, scoring in five of its last six games at ECB. The Vorarlberg team is threatened with elimination in the pre-playoff for the third time in a row.

Thu, 02.03.2023, 8.30 pm: SHC Fassa Falcons – EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel
Referees: BAJT, REZEK, Arlic, Bergant. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel claimed the opening win in the "best-of-3" series with a 4-2 home victory over SHC Fassa Falcons on Tuesday thanks to a strong first 24 minutes. Rok Kapel, who was signed just before the transfer deadline, put his stamp on the game with a goal and two assists. Apart from a brief period of weakness in the second period, the Eagles dominated the game. They only need one more win to reach the postseason for the first time. The Austrians are currently without defeat for four games, but they have only won one game in Fassa: On November 26, they won 6-3, before that, they had seven defeats in a row.
