Pance scores brace for Ljubljana
With his first multiple-goal-game of the season Ziga Pance gave the HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana a 7:3 comeback-win against S.G. Cortina Hafro after trailing 0:2 early in the game, as Mike Cazzola opened for the guests with a brace. From the middle of the first on, it was all Ljubljana: Within less than one minute, Miha Zajc (15.) and Jan Drozga (16.) tied the game at two still in the first. Pance scored his brace in the middle frame to send Ljubljana on winning-ways. With another goal of Mick Simsic in the second, the “dragons” got the preliminary decision and climed to second spot in standings.
Bregenzerwald takes sixth straight win
With a 5:3 victory in the “Vorarlberg Derby” against EHC Lustenau, the EC Bregenzerwald took the sixth straight win, after a huge final frame. It was “Wälders” first season win against Lustenau after two losses in the “return-to-play”-phase. After the first frame was tied at one, Frederik Rasmussen turned the game with a brace to Lustenaus favour. In the further curse of the game, it was all Bregenzerwald: First, Roberts Lipsbergs scored on double powerplay to half the deficit, while he balance the game after 22 seconds played in the last. Julian Zwerger (45.) with his second of the night, hit the game-winner 16 minutes left, where Felix Beck kept a clean sheet to secure the sixth consecutive win.
Rosa’s brace got Asiago on winning-ways
After Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey lost its third Return-2-Play duel on Thursday too, the Italians prolonged their run of success in the "Home-and-Away" round. The 5:2 home-win over the Rittner Buam was Asiago's sixth success in a row, moving it up to fourth place in the standings. The South Tyroleans had to admit defeat again after three wins in a row. The foundation for the victory was laid by veteran Marco Rosa, who opened the game with a power play goal in the 5th minute and doubled it 29 seconds left in the first. Another goal close to the second break by Alex Frei (40th) and a goal by Michele Marchetti (44th) secured the victory. Jose Magnabosco, who was involved in three goals, cleared it with an empty-netter. MacGregor Sharp, who scored twice and thus also scored at least one goal in the fourth consecutive game, held his own for the "Buam".
