KHL Medvescak Zagreb came into the game with a roster mostly composed of players loan by two other Croatian clubs Mladost and Zagreb. The start to the game was better for the visitors - Matus scored twice in the first 309 seconds. But, the Croatians fighted and were rewarded with the 1:2 netted by Svensson (17.). After the re-start the Czechs were the chiefs on the ice (22:4-shots in period 2): Kalus (22.), Hlava (30.), McPherson (34.) and Nemec (40.) made it 6:1 for the visitors as it was obvious, they were above the home team quality-wise and also regarding stamina. And 50 seconds before the end of the game, youngster Vladimir Oscadal marked the final score (7:1) with his first ever Erste Bank Eishockey Liga goal.
