HC Orli Znojmo have announced the core of the team for the upcoming Erste Bank Eishockey League season. Total of twelve players from this year´s roster continue, including four players born and raised in Znojmo: Jan Lattner, David Bartoš, Jakub Stehlík and Marek Špaček. Also on the roster are defensive forward Patrik Novak, young scorer Tomas Guman and others. "We are keeping the core of the team including young players who have gained more experience now and can play a more important role in the team," says Znojmos sports manager Rostislav Dočekal. "With this core of the team, we want to look and find right additions to the squad to be competitive and be in the fight for higher ranks next season."

Negotiations are still ongoing with other two players from last season: goalie Tomas Halasz and defenseman Cody Corbett. After analyzing last season, the club decided not to offer new deals to goalie Marek Schwarz, defensemen Antonin Boruta, Marek Biro, Josef Zajic, Andre Lakos (AUT) and forwards Colton Yellow Horn, Radek Cip, Stepan Csamango, Tomas Plihal and Adam Raska. Eagles Captain Jiri Beroun has ended his playing career, but he will continue within the club in a coaching role. Miroslav Frycer will lead the team as head coach, with Beroun and Tomas Jakes as assistant coaches. Petr Hrachovina remains as goalie coach and team manager.

Two Austrians stay in Klagenfurt
Thomas Hundertpfund and Martin Schumnig will continue playing for EC-KAC for another two seasons.

Caps play in the Erste Bank Arena 
Vienna Capitals home-arena got a new name, is called Erste Bank Arena from now on.
