Znojmo signs Canadian defenseman McEachen

Orli Znojmo have announced the signing of 27-year old Canadian defenseman Patrick McEachen. McEachen comes after three seasons in League Magnus, top division in France.

McEachen is native from Ontario, Canada and after coming through local junior leagues he enrolled on Queen's University in Kingston, spending three seasons there and winning CIS title in 2011/12 season. After moving to Europe in 2015, McEachen spent two seasons with Gap Rapaces, playing in the Champions Hockey League and winning French title in 2016/17 season. He has recorded his best points-tally last season with Bordeaux, logging 47 points in 55 games. 
 
"Patrick is a skilled offensive defenseman who can be utilized on a powerplay. He is a two-way defenseman, responsible at the back while capable of contributing to the offensive play," says sports manager Rostislav Docekal. He is Znojmo´s third signing in the off-season after goalie Patrik Nechvatal and forward C.J. Stretch.
