The 31-year-old Canadian played at Vimmerby HC in Sweden during the past season and recorded seven points (4G|3A) in 20 games. He gained his first hockey experience in and around Toronto, where he also played in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He was considered by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft - but never made it to the NHL. Until the end of the 16-17 season he played for different teams in the AHL and ECHL. Then he moved to Banska Bystrica (20G|21A) and promptly won the Slovak championship.

In 2008, Brittain won gold at the U18 World Championship with Canada.

"We felt we needed to strengthen again offensively, and Josh is a player who fits that category. He also has the advantage of being able to play both center and the wing," said club president Pavel Ohera, who is still looking for another addition.
