The hosts from Znojmo had to chase a deficit early in their second game of the season against league leader HK SZ Olimpija. In the sixth minute of the game Luka Kalan put the guests, who won the first duel of the season, in the lead. After that, however, ZNO played equal and two powerplay goals by Vojtech Nemec (14.) and Anthony Luciani (15.) gave them the lead before the end of the first period. For the Canadian Luciani it was already the eleventh goal of the season.

In the second period, Ljubljana clearly set the tone. Two goals by Ziga Pance (7./PP1) and Aleksandar Magovac (16.) gave the Dragons a narrow lead going into the final period. In this Znojmo was again the more active team. Ljubljana made life difficult for itself through numerous indiscipline actions. Four minutes before the end of the game, Znojmo was finally able to take advantage of one of the numerous powerplays. Radek Prokes scored after a great assist from Ryan Culkin. Thus, the game had to be decided in overtime. In this Hunter Fejes scored after 50 seconds to give Znojmo their third win in the last five games.
