With 548 appearances across all competitions, Daniel Frank is the player with the most appearances of the still active players and is now starting his eleventh season in the Bolzano jersey, the second as captain.

"The first season as captain was already something special," explains Frank, "and I believe that I gave everything within the realm of possibility, for the team, for the jersey and for the club: it was almost the perfect year, only the crowning glory was missing. Those who know me know that for me the only thing that counts is winning: I often had the opportunity to talk to some fans and I promised them that once I will be captain, I will bring home the cup at least once. This will be my incentive for the coming season: we are a great group, many want to stay in Bolzano and the desire for revenge is great. Losing Game 7 in front of our own crowd is something I will never forget and also this should spur us on to get what we want in the new season."

Olimpija strengthens with Finnish defender
Taneli Ronkainen strengthens the defense of HK SZ Olimpija. The 28-year-old has only been active in his home country, most recently with TPS in Liiga (13 games). "I chose Ljubljana because I wanted to try something new in hockey besides Finland. Coach Upi Karhula was also an important reason for my decision. I'm looking forward to the new season and I'm sure we will do our best to be successful and fulfill our potential as a team," said Taneli Ronkainen.

Florian Lanzinger receives young professional contract at the VSV
Florian Lanzinger (18), who comes from the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV talent pool, will receive a young professional contract with the Blue-Whites for the upcoming season and is expected to gain playing practice and experience both with the Eagles in Villach and with cooperation partner EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel in the Alps Hockey League.
