The Swede Johan Pennerborn takes over the coaching as well as the sporting management of the Moser Medical Graz99ers in the next two years. The Swede comes to Graz from SHL champion Färjestad, where he served as head or assistant coach (in the first year) for the past six years. Pennerborn was replaced at Färjestad in February 2022.

The 50-year-old began his coaching career in Division 1 with Sunne IK in Sweden. After further stints in HockeyAllsvsnskan and Division 2, Pennerborn moved to Färjestad in the 2014/15 season. Here he acted two years as head coach in the junior team. In 2016/17, he was given the opportunity as assistant coach of the fighting team before being promoted to head coach just one year later.

Johan Pennerborn: "I was impressed by the conditions in Graz right from the start and am already looking forward to my new role with the 99ers. I want to bring small details to the club in the future and further develop both the field hockey and the players."
