With Vitali Menshikov the Moser Medical Graz99ers sign a new defender just before the start of the Qualification Round. The 31-year-old Russian moves directly from the KHL from Metallurg Magnitogorsk to the Styrians. Matias Sointu is signed off for him.

Vitali Menshikov is the first player from Russia in the club history of the Moser Medical Graz99ers. The 31-year-old played 347 games in the KHL and scored 11 goals and 43 assists. Now the new number 12 should bring even more stability to the Graz defense. Matias Sointu will be replaced by the new number 12. Vitali Menshikov has already arrived in Graz.

99ers head coach Jens Gustafsson: "Vitali is a player with a lot of experience. He is a two-way defenseman who can be used on the power play as well as in penalty killing."
