"Winning a championship is of course an incredible feeling. It brings the whole team together even more. You form friendships that last a lifetime and there are memories that last a lifetime. This year, of course, I want to experience that again. I know how to do it and try to lead my teammates through it as well," Alex Petan rekindles thoughts of his only title in ICE so far.

Petan personally more successful than in 2018/19 championship season
In the 2018/19 championship season, the right wing produced 40 points (17G / 23A) in 51 appearances for Bolzano. This season, Petan has already been on the ice 53 times and has been successful 52 times (16G / 36A). Especially impressive is his playoff performance. Only in game one and game three against Villach the right-shooter did not score a point. In the other seven games of the postseason, the cousin of Pustertal pro Dante Hannoun entered the scoresheet no less than nine times.

"On paper, a very good matchup"
Against Salzburg, Petan was able to score "only" once in four season encounters so far. In total, his team suffered three defeats. Nevertheless, the Canadian-born player believes they have a chance in the final: "We know what Salzburg is good at. They have good speed, are technically very adept. Our strengths are similar, so I think on the paper it's a very good matchup. Now it's about who wants it more. I'm looking forward to the finals, especially the home games will be very special for sure."
