HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro will play the Alps Hockey League season opener on Saturday! The match will start in Jesenice at 18:00. The „Red Steelers“ have been successful in all four meetings with the Italian club so far. But, watch out: The club from Veneto is known for their good season-starts: Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro has won both season-openers in the Alps Hockey League so far (2016 and 2017).

For Hockey Milano Rossoblu will start a new chaptor on Saturday. The Italians will play their first Alps Hockey League-match, facing VEU Feldkirch at home. Each city - Milano and Feldkirch - has a big and long hockey-tradition. Besides, it will be the first Alps Hockey League-game in a mega-city. 2016 and 2017, the Austrians have won their Alps Hockey League opener.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 has earned the Alps Hockey League title 2018. The reign Champion collected confidence in the last friendly games as well and will now open the new season in Salzburg on Saturday. The „Yellow-Reds“ will travel with good memories to Austria, because Anthony Bardaro and Company have won all four clashes with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors so far. On the other side, the Mozart Citizens will fighting for their first victory in an Alps Hockey League opener and against the Champion from Asiago too.

EC-KAC II vs. EK Zeller Eisbären is one out of two Austrian clashes at the beginning of the Alps Hockey League season 2018/19. The two Austrians clubs have shown different faces in their Alps Hockey League openers so far: Whilte the Polar Bears have earned wins 2016 and 2017, Klagenfurt stayed without points each year. Besides, the guests from Pinzgau will travel with good memories to Klagenfurt: Fabian Scholz and Co. have been successful in all (three) Alps Hockey League meetings in Klagenfurt so far.

The two clubs have been in a fight for points in the Alps Hockey League six times so far and the home-team has always left the ice as the winner. But, watch out: The Tyroleans are known for their good season-starts: The Eagles have earned three points out of their season-opener 2016 and 2017 as well.

HC Pustertal Wolves will join the competition as the 17th and last team on Sunday. The Italians will welcome HK SZ Olimpija from Ljubljana. The Slovenes, who will play their second match within just 22 hours, have won both meetings with Bruneck so far.
